I bought these a while back and I won't trade them in I have played on these and all you have to do is tweak them to get what you want. I replaced the conga head and left the tumba head the same. It sounds great. Great drums great price can't beat that.

The Shells are excellent as well as the Lp hardware. As others have reviewed the heads are sucky, but take the time to break them in properly and they are not that bad. Would still recomend replacing heads with Lp hand select heads. Get them, work with them, a great deal for those who are willing to do a little work and educate themselves about congas.

I've played them on gig's and at church and I'm getting more than what I payed for. In some cases fellow percusionist rather play mine over their higher priced tumbas. I agree, the skins could be better, but for now they are doing the job and I'm getting paid. I'm a happy Rican!

The heads on these drums are not good and spending the money for new rims is not worth it. I just spent $145 for 11" and 11 3/4" rims and that doesn't include what I am going to spend on new heads. I regret not saving for at least a Matador set.
