The roots of these bells can be traced to Africa and then to the metal agogo bells played throughout Brazil. LP introduced the wooden agogo bell in the 1960s to extend the tonal range of this traditional instrument. The use of high impact plastic in the creation of LP Sambago bells delivers a crisp and consistent sound unlike any existing instrument.

Quickly and easily attaches to any 3/8"-diameter mounting rod with the included LP eyebolt assembly.

Pitched so that they have complimentary tones—high and low—approximately one minor third apart. Brilliant sound combined with bold, colorful looks makes them perfect for the professional percussionist yet simple enough for the novice musician.

Latin Percussion LP617 Mountable Double Sambago Bells Features:

  • High-impact plastic
  • Unique crisp sound
  • Attaches to any 3/8"-diameter mounting rod
  • Included LP eyebolt assembly
  • Pitched a minor third apart

You can always use a new sound to liven up your kit or percussion setup. Put them in the cart now.

I read a review that stated that the purple bell sounded like the blue jam block. I want to state that it sounds exactly like the blue jam block. I bought this set as an addition to the blue jam block and was thoroughly disappointed that they sounded so similar. The difference is almost indistinguishable.

So now for the more favorable aspects. I have never had a problem with the mounting system as others have had. I have actually used these in several theater productions for effects, and they have fit the bill perfectly. They don't sound like bells, so don't buy this if that is what you are looking for. The lower has a gook sound while I would describe the higher as a gak. If you say that out loud, you can kind of get what I'm talking about.

I do like this product. I'll be buying true bells soon.

I bought this bell and it sounded great. I have had it for about a year now. With some beating, one of the bells came apart from the welding. I you're not to much of a hard hitter, than this would suite you. Hard hitters need something more sturdy.

Good, but won't stay mounted

First of all, these should be called blocks, as they don't sound like bells. They have a really nice, bright sound to them, but unfortunately, they're unusable. Why? Well, just like all LP products, the eyebolt assembly doesn't stay tightened. All you have to do is hit it two or three times, and it's loose. Completely loose. The only way to get these things tight is to use players and wrench them as tight as they will go. Then, get some duct tape and wrap it completely around the mount. After that, melt the eyebolt assembly until you can bond it with the mounting rod. Seriously, the eyebolt assembly is garbage.

These bells sound good and have tone. The bells are virtually unbreakable but how they're mounted is not. careful when you transport because they will break easily at the weld.

The purple one sounds a lot like the blue jam block in my opinion. They're really great, but due to the little gap in the they make more of a click. Not exactly what i was aiming for
