Recognizing the need to provide the aspiring drummer an easy, economical, and complete drum set; the Blackhawk has been updated to include a full hardware pack. This 5-piece Fusion kit features basswood/poplar shells that project a full, resonant tone and are neatly finished in gloss wrap.

The hardware package features double-braced hardware and includes a chain-drive bass drum pedal, hi-hat stand, snare drum stand, and a boom cymbal stand. Cymbals sold separately.

As the only drum set I've ever had, i've got nothing to compare it to. I got one at age 7 (yes, its an older one) and still use it now at 13. First of all, the stock heads aren't very good exept the bass, but they can be replaced easily. The hardware is okay, the only thing that I've had to replace is the bass pedal. The footboard on the Hi-hat stand is broken after years of punishment (the part connecting the heel to the frame underneath, not the footboard itself), but it is still usable. The shells themself are great, I suggest taking the finish off, it's good looking with just the natural wood. For a begginer set, it's exellent, but who says it's ony for beginners? 4.5/5

When I first saw this set and the price, I was sceptical. I thought "for that price? it must be a cheap rip-off of a Gretsch" Then I played them. I was amazed at how great a sound you get out of the Blackhawk, even with the stock heads! Obviously it sounds better with aquarians or evans, but hey. They're stock. One of the best parts of the set is the mount. The tom mount doesn't vibrate at all when you hit the toms, and I'm a hard hitter! The only problem I found is that the beater on the pedal whips back and hits your foot if you don't have it set tight, so people that drum without shoes might get bruises. overall, it's an awesome set for a beginner or anyone else that's tight on money! Most importantly, Have Fun!
