SURGE Pack 2 contains a 12" hi-hat, a 13" crash with choke capability, and a 16" dual-zone ride with choke capability. A large choke strip on the underside of the crash and ride cymbals sends a message to the sound module to choke the cymbal sound when activated-just like choking any other cymbal.

I got these because I love the look of real cymbals but the incredible audio options that the V-Drum TD-10 sound module gives. These look very real (I think even better than the Hart eCymbals of which I own one). The only con is that the ride cymbal seems to have a fairly small sweet spot that you have to learn to hit. Very good for someone who likes the real look of cymbals.

The surge cymbals are very good with response,(multi hit, choke) but are loud, its kinda like hitting a cymbal laying on a bed bell-up. It is pretty compatibal with most sets and are a must have with an Alesis set.
