I've owned this kit now for about six months and as others have stated- For the money, This is a nice kit. It's no V-drum kit (I've owned one of those in the past), but it also only cost $499!!! I was disappointed in the heads being kinda loud for a E-kit, but they say you can change em' to mesh. I need to do that. Other than that, I can't complain. As far as durability, I see people trashing cymbal pads on almost every make of E-drum out there. Mine have held up just fine. Just don't beat the crap out of them. Every time I see broken E-cymbal pads, there is usually a young or untrained drummer sitting behind them that can't play without assaulting their kits! This is my second budget E-kit and both of mine have held up with normal wear and tear. As far as sound- I'll say average. The presets are mehhh. But with a little time spent going through the different sounds, I found a few combinations that I'm pretty happy with. Oh yeah....As another stated- The high-hat foot controller does in fact have a strange feel to it. After playing it for a while I've grown used to it (It almost feels like there is the slightest delay to it) and can use it just fine. Again- For the price, It's a great E-kit!!! Don't be scared away by the minor flaws unless you have the money to blow on a Roland V-drum kit or Hart kit!

I purchased this kit around a year ago and have played on it quite a bit since purchasing it. The rack is pretty small and it's very flimbsy. It does hold the triggers okay though...it doesn't allow for much configuration so you will be pretty cramped when playing it.

Sounds are garbage and outdated..there are hardly any usable sounds on the module and all snares sound like machine guns. Save and get a Roland TD-4...amazing sound.

This set is an inexpensive way to get your start in electronic drumming. I haven't had the best experience in the world with these drums. They tend to fall apart. The hi-hat will swirl around when i play because of a missing set screw and all of the symbols busted from normal playing. You can buy this set now but five months down the road you'll have spent enough money on replacement parts to have purchased a nicer set.

I just bought this kit and I am really pleased with the whole package. After 17 years of drumming, I decided to buy an E-drum kit. This one is definitely not bad. The pads are responsive and sturdy. The plastic heads seem to hold up well. They are a little loud for an E-kit but they are not too loud for an apartment dweller. They sound like Remo practice pads. The DM5 module has been around forever and has more than stood the test of time. It also has enough room for pads that I can actually add a few more. The rack is sturdy and doesn't seem to transmit much vibration to other pads. The only complaint I have with the kit is the hi-hat pedal. It is sturdy enough, but you have to make very exaggerated foot movements to be sure the switch registers (i.e. all the way up or all the way down). Overall I am happy with my purchase. I do plan on switching the heads to mesh soon.
