Just breaking in

Ive been playing off and on for about 40 yrs ive only had two other sets so really not alot to compare with but im happy with these.they come with the stands and hihat but I sold my hi hat stand and pedal back to the store and use Yamaha double pedal and pearl remote hi hat ..using Sabian AAX 15 and 18 and a 22in paragon the match seems perfect.I did add a small pillow in the bass drum and a ring on the snare(using the Yamaha snare as secondary) because my primary snare is a Chad Smith Signature snare.All in all this is a complete set that I will never replace.Very happy with the sound responce and overall feel

this drum set is amazing the cybmbals are perfect and both tom rule the hi-hat is da bomb and the bass drum make the best low sound i've ever heard

My kit had two minor defects, therefore I gave the quality rating a 4. One tension screw on the floor tom was stripped, but it can easily be replaced. Also, one bass drum rim had a deep scratch in the finish that appeared to be a manufactuting slip up. However, I placed the scratched rim on the batter side so that the foot pedal attached over the scratch and it will never be noticed. In spite of the imperfections, it's the sound that matters and you won't be diaappointed with these beautiful birch shells. Incidentally, the stock heads don't sound reasonably good and replacing them isn't as urgent as it can be with some other kits. The hardware that comes with the kit is very sturdy and has memory lock features that make breaking down and setting up a breeze. If you looking for a great sounding first kit go with Yamaha's Stage Custom Birch. You won't regret making this purchase.
