Best Ride I Have Ever Played

I have played a lot of rides. HH Raw Bell Dry Ride, Paragon, Evolution, Groove, HH Rock RIde, and many more. I have been looking for something very specific in my ride sound and this HHX Dry Ride is perfect. Its dry and very defined, but has some power unlike the HH RBDR. You can crash it and its got a great bell. Overall you can use this for rock, jazz, metal, latin, ect..

I purchased this cymbal while it was on sale a while ago. I didn't know what to expect, but I was amazed! It is a quiet type ride and has that great "ping" sound all over! The bell is a little small, but the rest of the cymbal makes up for that! Get this cymbal!!! It is worth the money!

I just swapped this ride for my old ride. I am love the sound I get out of this. This ride has just the right amount of stick definition and weight to it. It is dry but also has some sweetness to it unlike my old, glassy (not bad) ride. My only complaint is that the bell is much weaker than my old one. The bell is very tonal and sweet, much more of a ding. Overall great ride.

This ride has the perfect amount of ping and wash, without having too much, or too little, of either. Tonally, it's mellow and bright, but just bright enough. A little pricey, but it's certainly a high-quality ride. Beautiful looking also. The bell is a bit unique sounding from what I'm used to... (kinda hard to describe). Sabian HHX's are the best, this ride is no exception.

Good reliable ride

Strong stick definition with a minimal wash. This platter is pretty heavy, its best suited to medium to very loud settings. It doesn't sound like "dry" rides of other makes, it sounds more like a zildjian A ping ride with much less wash and added projection. If your playing an intimate acoustic gig you might want to move on to a lighter piece. Most "plugged in" gigs it should handle very well.

Tone consists of a clear defined ping, uniform across the bow until about two inches from the edge of the cymbal where it begins to wash out. Bright for an HHX but not anywhere nears as bright as Sabians AA,AAX and Vault lineups and comparable lineups from other makers. Bell is strong and displays a low pitch but i find it a little small for such a heavy 21" cymbal.

It is professionally crafted and therefore expensive, but you get what you pay for. Its become a staple in my lineup.

Best suited for medium to loud music and recording.
